The Holidays are right around the corner and you’ve probably started making plans with family and friends. Instead of scrambling last minute for those extra placemats you swear you stored last season, let’s go through this checklist of Holiday dinner table necessities!
1. Create a Holiday Worthy Centerpiece.
You want your guests to feel the Holiday cheer the second they lay eyes on your stunning dining room table. The key to this is a festive centerpiece. Whether you choose seasonal florals with dark colored vases, or some sort of candle arrangement to draw your guests around, I have options for you!
- Garland as Centerpiece– Simply place a garland down the center of your table, with or without a table runner.
- Candle Holders– You can select either a large candle holder or simply place smaller ones that hold tall tapered candles.
- Add Decorative Pieces– Set small ceramic trees around your garland, or place small glass jars filled with pine cones! You can even attach small ornaments or pine cones to the garland itself for some added flare!
- Use Vases with Florals!– If a Garland isn’t for you, add. few vases with either Holiday colored florals or pine decor pieces!
2. Place Settings and Dinnerware.
Full tableware sets are one of my favorite things to create. You can create a stunning work of art on your table by incorporating the following:
- Decorative Place Setting or Charger Plate (for those who don’t know, it’s a larger plate that dinner plates are placed on top of! See the middle picture in the images above!)
- Different Sized Plates! Pro Tip: If you purchase 2 sets of dinnerware in two different colors, you can stack the different colors on top of one another. Black and off-white are an elegant and classic choice!
- Brass or Black Silverware– These two colors specifically, give off more of a fall/ winter aesthetic! Of course you can choose silver if you prefer!
- Neutral Colored Napkins– Beige colored linens will always be a decor staple!
- Aesthetic Napkin Rings– One of my favorite things to do is use a small decorative ornament (acorn pictures above) as a decorative napkin ring!
3. Don’t Forget the Glassware
If there’s something you shouldn’t skimp on, it’s glassware! Wine glasses get broken all the time so be prepared with extras. There are so many gorgeous wine glasses to choose from: my favorite are large cabernet glasses and modern stemless white wine glasses! For glassware, fluted glasses are so popular! Elegant and stylish, you can’t go wrong with them. Throw a gold rim on it and it’ll be simply stunning!
4. Serving the Food
The one thing I’m always low on are large serving trays and boards! Not only do large boards help you serve a lot of people, they can make beautiful statement pieces! Nothing brings people together like a Holiday charcuterie board! Check out some serving platters, charcuterie boards, and any other serving extras you may need!
- Serving Platters and Boards
- Utensils and Gravy Boats
- Roasting Pans and Cookware
I hope this helped you answer all your questions for how to set a holiday dinner table! Order the essentials and let holiday entertaining be an absolute breeze this winter!
