Choosing a paint color for the exterior of your home can be overwhelming. There are so many options, plus adding to your curb appeal in itself can feel like a challenge. Since the color of your home is one of the first things that people notice and what you’ll look at the most yourself, it’s important to choose a color that feels the most natural, especially if you’re wanting white paint on the exterior.
My very first piece of advice is to avoid choosing a color that is too bright for an exterior. I love an off-white with a creamy undertone, so it isn’t blinding to the eye. It’s also a more common choice amongst homeowners, so you can rest assured that it will add value to your home.
Currently, for our home, we are deciding between warm off-white colors to flow with our brown roof. Personally, we’re looking for a creamy color to balance our landscape.
Below are six white paint colors that I love!
My Top 6 Favorite White Paint Colors
The first white paint color that comes to mind with a classic, bright feel is Pure White by Sherwin Williams. It is a true white without any harsh undertones. This is the brightest white I personally would consider for an exterior. It’s currently what we have in our home!
The second white paint color I’d like to bring attention to is White Dove by Benjamin Moore. This is the first color we’re considering for our home. White Dove is a beautiful off-white color with warm undertones that looks great with wood accents.
Here is White Duck by Sherwin Williams! It’s the other color we’re trying to choose between. Since our roof is brown, we think a creamy off-white will look great.
To compare the two, we painted a slab side by side with White Dove and White Duck! Which is your favorite!?
For warmer white paint, go with Oyster White by Sherwin Williams. It has pretty, subtle gray undertones. It is another color that would contrast nicely with wood and red brick accents like they did here.
A very popular white paint color among designers is Simply White by Benjamin Moore. It is a warm white with creamy undertones but is known to look different in shade and full sun.
Below is a home with Snowbound by Sherwin Williams. It is a true white with slight grey undertones similar to pure white but less warm.
