One of my favorite ways to easily freshen up your space is to change seasonal decor for Spring & Summer! What better way to transition from the Winter months than by changing out those deep rich colors for bright and airy pops of Spring! Let me show you how you can easily change seasonal decor to make your space feel fresh and ready for warmer weather! Different seasons have a variety of colors and textures that I like to play with to constantly bring new life to my space. Blankets, throw pillow covers, rugs, plants, and holiday decorations are all things you can change out without too much effort. At the end of this page, I’ve provided links to shop my seasonal must haves!
Colors and Fabrics
In the spring and summer months, linens and neutral colors are used to keep the home cool and are a great way to change our seasonal decor. Light colored blankets provide something nice to wrap up in for movie nights, but still look visually appropriate strewn over the couch during the day. Stick with light pastels for color and neutral undertones to “cool down” your home. Allow the sun to shine through the windows and settle on light colored rugs with subtle pops of pastel colors.
Throw pillow covers follow this same rule. If you haven’t seen my post on how to properly arrange throw pillows, check it out here. In the bedroom, using white sheets/ linen bedding during the hotter months is crucial for our sanity but also helps brighten up the room.
Greenery and Florals- the prettiest way to change seasonal decor.
I love incorporating new plants into my home, so feel free to dial up the greenery. In the summer, make the jump into freshly cut bright flowers. Don’t be scared to use a new accent color and allow your flowers to resonate them through the home. Spring and summer is also the time to play with floral accents. Whether it be through rugs or throw pillow covers, both are great ways to change out seasonal decor pieces! Stick with this one basic rule. Do not go overboard with variation; it can be easy to get lost with too many colors, prints, and holiday décor. A home looks well put together when a common theme is displayed throughout.
Style tip: Add water to the bottom to your vase to give the appearance of using fresh stems. You can also pot your faux trees in a pot with real moss for a similar feel.

Candles and Scents
Incorporate the most important of the 5 senses by adding floral candles or essential oil diffusers. Nothing screams summer quite like a mild tangerine and fresh linen scent. I’ve found it helpful to match the scent with the color I think it should exude. For example, the scent I mentioned above of tangerine would well accompany light orange pastels or pops of tangerine colored flowers. Light blues and nude hues would pair well with fresh laundry scents or crisp lavender linen. Pink accents pair well with fresh rose or peony scents. I love the Dyptyque Roses Scented Candle for a pop of Spring!
